Hello fellow members,

 

The holidays have come and gone and we have bid goodbye to the year 2003.  Happy New Year to every member and may you have a prosperous and fruitful 2004.

 

The parties have come and gone,

v        Children’s party

v        Hamper draw and

v        New Years Eve

 

Many congratulations to the Entertainment Convenor [Mrs. Shefali Shah] and her Sub-Committee for the wonderful organisation.  Despite a one hour black out on New Years Eve, the evening proceeded as expected and we had the biggest party ever seen at the Mombasa Sports Club ever.  To assist in planning the event in future, advance booking will be necessary and limited number of tickets will be sold.

 

Our contract with Yvonne Magic Pot – the caterer expired and we have now engaged the services of Sham – Shilu, who has promised the Club members a culinary delight for the duration for his contract.

 

The Management Committee wishes to thank Mr. and Mrs. Butt of Yvonne Magic Pot and all their staff for the good service and good food served for the last three [3] years at the Club.  May God bless their future endeavours.

 

The Catering Sub-Committee headed by Ms. Ann Aburili has always endeavoured to improve the quality of our kitchen and food preparation, any comments, queries, suggestions from members will be welcome.

OWLING:

 

Double Wave: The usual social Bowling is on, and we have some new Members, who have joined. We welcome New Bowlers, and invite Members of the Club to Join. Competitions:- We have problems in organizing the Games because of Members who are regular do not take part. I have to request to all Bowling Members to be more ACTIVE in the section. During the month of November, Dr. Rasik Trophy was played, Fourteen players played, and with keen Competition. Out of the four teams, the Winners were Chandu Shah, Bhogie Doshi, and Sandhya Weeraratha. The worthy Runners Up was the team of Kirti Chhaniyara, Dr. Rasik Patel, Hamida and Dr. Dhillon. We invite new Bowlers and the training sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings from 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. All interested are welcome

OCKEY SECTION [MENS]

 

 

Finally the hockey season is around the corner and once again after a long lapse of not being active, we are once again in the Kenya Hockey Union League.  Our first game is on Sunday 4th January 2004 at 9.00 a.m. at the Mombasa Sports Club against Park Road.

 

The scheduled games are on the notice board and we request you members to come and support us in large numbers.

 

All members who would like to play hockey are most welcome and it will be a pleasure to have you on the ground.

Lots of entertainment with music extravaganza with various artists and comedians keeping you entertained the entire evening……………

 

Various cuisines and lots of different dishes to try.

 

Charges will be as follows:-

Member Guest   -       250/-

 

Food will be for sale in various kitchens.

Raffle with lots of prizes.

 

The Club will honour the best outstanding/up-coming and the most supportive member of the section for 2003 for all the active disciplines of the Club.

 

The sportsman and sportswoman of the year will also be named and honoured.

 

We on behalf of the hockey section kindly request all members of the Club to attend the above function in great numbers.
