Fellow Club Members

I stand here today humbled by this The Mombasa Sports Club. The best club in East Africa. I am grateful for the trust you have bestowed on us and am mindful of the service of those who came before us. I congratulate the new committee and look forward to working with them.  

This club is more then 100 years old. It has stood the test of time because it is united. Though diverse it is united. We look forward to unifying this club further and will go the extra mile in reaching out to one and all. After all Sports is the greatest Unifier of all. With this unity we look forward to the Challenges we will face in the next one year.

We hope to increase the participation and the interest of all members young and old in Sports and in their club. We will be establishing programs and tournaments for the member’s especially junior members. This club is an Oasis from the real threats of modern society example drugs and antisocial behavior. We will encourage all members to bring their family to the club both young and old. We urge you to come to the club after work and at least come for a walk if not play a game. It is better than wasting your time in a traffic jam. By the time you finish your game the traffic will have cleared and you can quickly reach home safe sound and refreshed.

You should be reassured that we will take the finances of this club seriously. We will strategize and come out with plans on the long term security of this club. We will also reach out to our fellow clubs and rebuild our relationships. We will involve the members in our development plans; you can also rest assured that the club will maintain its standards.

 We wish to reassure you we will be transparent and accessible at all times and consult widely and extensively before making major decisions.

In closing we thank you all for taking the time to come to your club’s AGM. You have shown interest in your club and we would like to encourage you to participate in the affairs of the club. Entry to the Sub Committees is open and you are encouraged to volunteer your name according to the Sub Committee of your choice.
