A new rehabilitated Gym with new machines and accessories is coming soon!

Prevention of dehydration:

The primary aim of fluid replacement is to maintain plasma volume so that circulation and sweating can progress at optimal levels.  Prevention of dehydration and its consequences particularly hyperthemia, can only be achieved with adequate water replaced during exercise.

Cold treatments suck as periodic application of cold towels to the forehead and abdomen during exercise or a cold shower before exercising in a hot environment is of minimal benefit in facilitating heat transfer.  Remember that the most effective defense against heat stress, is adequate hydration which is achieved by balancing water loss with water intake.

Please note that a well hydrated person always functions at a higher level than a dehydrated one.

WALKING AND JOGGING

Safety tips:

  • Consult a doctor before starting a training programme.
  • Breath regularly and monitor your target heart rate based on your age.
  • Warm up before and cool down after each exercise programme to prevent dehydration.
  • Keep yourself warm after finishing a work out.
  • Do not shower straight away with cold water after a work out.  Let your body cool down properly first.
  • Proper posture should always be maintained.
  • Ensure your glucose is at the right level.  Glucose defect will affect performance and could also result to fainting.
  • To avoid injuries of lower extremeties, always seek professional advise when purchasing good shoes for walking and jogging based on foot print.
